North Kessock Rowing Club

Coastal Skiff Trailer

North Kessock Rowing Club was founded at the end of 2022 when a group of locals gathered and decided to start a community rowing club. A huge fundraising effort was launched to raise money for a 22ft St Ayles Skiff as well as the safety equipment needed for rowing in the coastal waters of the Beauly Firth.

The sun shone on North Kessock Community Jetty for the official naming of  Eilean Dubh, which took place in May 2023. The club approached The Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation for an award towards a road trailer, enabling members to travel further afield to take part in regattas and other fundraising events.

A £1,500 award was used to fund the new equipment, which has been put to great use since it arrived in the Autumn of 2023.

The trolley that we use for launching simply slides on top of the new trailer and is secured by pins to allow it to be safely transported on the road. This is a real game changer for us as it will allow us to travel to other locations to take part in regattas or simply to row in new places.
