Rothes Tennis Club

Court upgrade

Rothes Tennis Club has reopened its courts after a £56,000 upgrade, designed to address drainage issues at the site.

Club members undertook a wide range of fundraising activities to enable the works, including Race Nights and coffee mornings.

This was supported by funding bodies, including a £3,000 award from The Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation.

Now, the courts are back in play and members were serving up smiles as they put the new playing surface to the test.

Rothes Tennis Club has more than 150 members - including an incredibly active junior squad made up of players aged from 4 to 18.

We thank The Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation for the grant award which enabled us to proceed with the necessary work on our courts. Drainage was a problem, but, because of the efforts of the contractor, DOE Sport, it is no longer an issue. Even the really heavy showers we've had in recent weeks left no trace of water. No puddles meant play could resume as soon as the rain passed. We are very pleased with the outcome, and the colour scheme is fantastic!
