The Gordon & Ena Baxter Foundation has announced its latest awards, with £78,000 being shared between 17 charities.
Groups from Caithness to Aberdeen will benefit thanks to the legacy of the late Gordon and Ena Baxter, of the Speyside soup and preserves firm. Awards ranged from £400 up to £15,000 and are going to a wide range of innovative, community projects.
Applications were of a very high standard and all the successful approaches demonstrated strong community backing – mostly through local fundraising and in-kind support.
It brings the total pledged this year to £215,000 between 34 projects, with a further application deadline to come. That will fall on October 25, with decisions made in the first week of December. You can find out more about eligibility to apply here.
